No swine flu in South Africa yet

The SA National Institute for Communicable Diseases told the press today that currently no cases of swine flu are known in South Africa. The swine flu outbreak was reported to have started in Mexico around Saturday and seems rapidly spreading around the world. The first case in Europe (Spain) occurred today.

Deaths suspected to have been caused by the flu epidemic in Mexico reached 103 on Monday and the United States declared it a public health emergency.
