Iberia expands Africa route network

As a result of the merger between Spain's flag carrier Iberia and British Airways, both airlines, which continue to operate under their current brands, are now also operating under a codeshare agreement.
As of 31 May 2011 Iberia is offering British Airways flights to Lusaka (Zambia), Accra (Ghana), Riyadh and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) to their customers, while British Airways has added its code to Iberia flights to Santiago de Chile, Guatemala and San Salvador.
Thanks to the codeshare agreement, customers can now also combine fares of the two airlines on certain routes and/or choose the most suitable.
